My Quizlet example
Quizlet is a mobile & web-based study application.
It is currently used by 1-in-2 high school students and 1-in-3 college students
in the United States. It was created by Andrew Sutherland in October 2005
and released to the public in January 2007. Quizlet trains students via flashcards and various
games and tests. As of August 2017, Quizlet has over 140 million user-generated
flashcard sets and more than 20 million active learners. It now ranks
among the top 50 websites in the U.S. In 2016, Quizlet was recognized by SimilarWeb as the fastest
growing US Education site in 2015. Quizlet holds annual language competitions
in French, German and Spanish.
The benefit in using Quizlet,
I think, the learning process, especially for kid, will become more interesting
because the children are invited to invlolve their selves as active as
possible. Being active here means that they can explore the material by them
selves by answering the question in the quizlet.
On the other hand, quizlet is an online quiz. So, we need
internet access to make, or even do it. The internet connection is not very
good, and sometimes they are getting slower. Thus, that thing disturbs the
learning process. It can also become worse if the internet connection cannot be
stable ASAP. The teacher will not be able to teach anything instead.
In my opinion, I will use this online quiz for teaching my
future student, especially when I will be teaching vocabulary. Why I said so is
because I am also working as a kindergarten teacher. So, children will be
happier when they are taught about vocabulary rather than grammar / writing /
listening. Using this online quiz will not make them bored.
To sum up, quizlet is a very useful thing for teaching
English, especially teaching vocabulary, and it is taught to young learners.
Below is my quizlet example. Kindly, try it out.
